At Swedbank we believe that we, together with our large customer base, can drive and have a major impact on our society. It is therefore natural that the Group is involved in various community projects, both locally and across national borders. While the projects differ in purpose, extent and geography, the goal remains the same – to be a good corporate citizen that strengthens society and its individual members.
Societal engagement
Societal engagement has played a key role throughout Swedbank’s history. Sweden's first savings bank was founded in 1820 to help the general public save and achieve long-term financial security. As a major bank, we are a part of and are affected by everything that happens in society. We engage in societal issues such as education and entrepreneurship. Positive development in these areas is important for the development of society as well as for the bank’s business.
Personal finance
Swedbank monitors areas that are important for personal finance. We analyse and examine how policy decisions and changes in circumstances affect individuals and households, and we work actively to educate the public about personal finance and savings.
Young people and finances
We engage in societal issues such as education and entrepreneurship. Initiatives that help young people to be financially sustainable are important for the development of society as well as for the bank’s business.
