Health, safety and wellness

Healthy employees do better business and a good working environment is an important part of being an attractive employer and a profitable company.

To achieve this, Swedbank needs employees who have a balance in life and an open and inclusive corporate climate. We therefore strive to create a working environment where everyone consciously manages health risks and where all employees are offered the conditions to maintain or improve their physical, mental and social well-being. All forms of harassment at work are unacceptable and we work for a working environment where all employees can feel good and perform well.

Health and safety work in the Swedish operations

Through preventive measures, the bank works to reduce sickness absence and increase the proportion of long-term healthy people. In collaboration with Feelgood, Swedbank in Sweden carries out active wellness work. Health representatives and health inspirators engage and inspire colleagues, and support the manager in their responsibility for a good working environment. Health representatives inspire and engage their colleagues in being able to take responsibility for their well-being and health and thereby reduce the risk of illness. The aim is to have concrete health plans with a focus on energy and recovery with promoting and preventive health activities.

The bank’s managers are trained in the employer’s rehabilitation responsibilities. There is also clear follow-up of long-term sick employees and focus on those with repeated short-term sick leave.

Twelve local Health and Safety Committees (HAMK) and a central Health and Safety Committee (C-HAMK) meet quarterly. The mission is to promote a health-promoting work environment and to carry out systematic work environment work by investigating risks, taking measures and following up on these at local and central level.
