Swedbank Robur publishes its Corporate Governance & Engagement Report 2024
The report shows that Swedbank Robur during 2024:
- Voted at over 1,000 meetings across nearly 40 markets
- Evaluated 650+ shareholder proposals
- Voted for 94% of global equity assets under management
- Participated in 79 nomination committees - more than any other Swedish investor
- Contacted 741 companies on for example climate, biodiversity, and children’s rights
"Despite the global trend of international investors lowering their sustainability ambitions, we remain committed to our strategy of keeping sustainability at the heart of everything we do. We believe that businesses that integrate sustainability into their strategy will be best positioned for long-term profitability – and therefore the most attractive investments. As Sweden’s largest fund manager, we continue to drive that development through our active ownership and engagement," says Pia Gisgård, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Governance at Swedbank Robur.
Swedbank Robur’s engagement strategy is built on five key tools: voting, nomination committee participation, thematic engagement, investor collaborations, and engagement service providers. Sustainability dialogues focus on climate, nature & biodiversity, human rights, and corporate governance, both through direct company interactions and investor networks.
In 2024, Swedbank Robur was involved in several initiatives, including the 'Ethical Artificial Intelligence' project, which aims to ensure the responsible development and use of AI. We also became members of PRI SPRING and FABRIC, two initiatives focusing on tackling biodiversity loss.
